OA Agreement for Czech Republic

CzechELib is a central licensing body securing the purchase of key electronic information resources for research and educational institutions in the Czech Republic. CzechELib consortium comprises universities, research institutes, hospitals, and special public libraries.

The CzechELib consortium procures access to a wide variety of Science, Technology, Medicine and Humanities and Social Sciences resources.

At the end of 2022, Springer Nature and the CzechELib Consortium have signed the first transformative read and publish OA agreement (Springer Transformative Agreement). It is one of the biggest consortia in the Czech Republic to implement such an agreement from 2023 onwards.

Authors affiliated with participating can make their publications immediately open in subscription journals that offer the hybrid open access option (Open Choice) and the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY and CC BY-NC), with fees covered by CzechELib.

This agreement also includes access to subscription journals on SpringerLink, at no extra cost to readers and users affiliated with CzechELib participating institutions.
