OA agreement for South Africa, Botswana and Namibia

SANLiC is the leading facilitator of cost effective access to high-quality scholarly electronic information in support of research, teaching and learning in Public Higher Education and Research Institutions in South Africa.

SANLiC facilitates, on a non-profit basis, affordable access to scholarly electronic information in support of the learning, teaching and research activities of its members. Working on a non-profit, cost recovery basis, it primarily harnesses collective buying power to negotiate and secure electronic license agreements for digital content.

We are very proud that SANLiC has entered a Transformative Agreement with Springer Nature.

Authors affiliated with a SANLiC participating institution, the University of Botswana, or the University of Namibia can make their publications immediately open in subscription journals that offer the hybrid open access option (Open Choice) and the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY and CC BY-NC), with fees covered by their institutions.

This agreement also includes access to subscription journals on SpringerLink, at no extra cost to readers and users affiliated with a participating institution.
