SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production

Sustainable consumption and production (SCP) is the use of natural resources, such as food, water, energy, and materials, in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. SCP is the focus of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN SDG) 12, and is essential for achieving sustainable development, as it can help to reduce environmental impacts, improve resource efficiency, and promote social equity. SDG 12 aims to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. This goal calls for a major shift in the way we produce and consume goods and services, so that they are more sustainable and less harmful to the environment.

This hub is a clearinghouse for research on UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, published across Springer Nature. It features selected research from Springer NatSN SDG logo © Springer Nature 2019ure's journals, special issues, and cross-journal article collections, as well as selected books and book chapters. The curated research covers topics including sustainable consumption patterns, sustainable production practices, and waste management, and more.
