December 2017 | The Nature Research editors who handle cancer primary research, methods, protocols and reviews bring you the latest articles, covering all aspects from disease mechanisms to therapeutic approaches.
Nature Energy: Adapting to Meet our Growing Thirst for Energy
July 2018 | Over a series of articles, we’ll be exploring the role Springer Nature's Journals are playing in tackling specific Sustainable Development Goals, but also how their diverse natural science and social science remit is seeing them address the much broader challenges that make up the programme. In this interview, find out how Nature Energy is publishing research that explores approaches to energy generation, storage, distribution and the impact of these on society and the planet.
Nature Cancer: Covering the breadth of cancer research
Prior to launching Nature Cancer in January 2020, cancer researchers were firmly in the mind of Chief Editor, Alexia-Ileana Zaromytidou: “We aimed for Nature Cancer to be a true community journal that serves interdisciplinary researcher cohorts.” In the five months since the inaugural issue, the journal has covered the breadth of cancer research.
Using past research to solve today’s global pandemic: The power of Nature archives
As the world continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 virus, the scientific and medical research communities continue to rely on past discoveries to inform effective treatments. How is archival research advancing COVID-19 research?
Measures of success: what’s the real value of published research?
In this article we look at some of the broader impact outcomes resulting from two very different papers published in Nature-branded Journals. We talked to the corresponding authors of each paper to find out what kind of impact the work has had on their careers, their field of research, and the wider world. We also asked them about their thoughts on the continued value of traditional research metrics; how they see impact measures changing over time; and what additional measures they would like to see introduced.

Nature Metabolism journal shows strong track record
August 2019 | The Nature Metabolism journal started publishing only six months ago but has already shown a strong track record of promising research papers. One example is a paper published in July, showing that a ketogenic diet, a diet high in fat and low in carbohydrates, promotes the growth of lymph vessels in mice and might lead to substantial reductions in lymphedema which is a huge problem in clinics.
Nature Food: Crossing the disciplines of food research
Nature Food launched in January 2020, publishing research and commentary on all aspects of food production, processing, distribution and consumption that relate to the broader sustainability agenda. The COVID-19 pandemic has, according to Chief Editor Anne Mullen, drawn issues of food supply chain resilience and food security sharply into focus this year, and may well be an impetus for a global food system transformation.
