Springer Nature's Open Access Agreements

Early and rapid access to research findings is fundamental to the advancement of science and discovery. Springer Nature is committed to accelerating the adoption of open access (OA) publishing and open research techniques, and since 2014 has pioneered a substantial number of OA agreements to further enable this transition.

Springer Nature’s agreement models and trusted, clear workflows are bridging customer needs and scalability. Our “Read and Publish” (Springer Compact) agreements comprising of over 2,200 hybrid journals, are supported by Plan S. They are transformative agreements that support the transition to a transparent and sustainable OA publishing environment, enabling partners to combine journal subscription access along with OA article processing charges (APCs). Springer Nature’s fully open access portfolio of 600 journals focuses on robust and insightful research, supporting the development of new areas of knowledge and making ideas and information accessible around the globe.

On this page we have summarized all relevant information for librarians and information specialists around Springer Nature’s OA Agreements.
