If you’re affiliated with any of the 47 universities in Australia and New Zealand, or at one of the seven additional participating institutions in the region, you can publish your article open access with fees covered, in more than 2,000 Springer hybrid journals.
In addition, as part of the agreement you will be able to read, use and reuse research published in over 2,000 Springer Nature journals across the Springer, Palgrave Macmillan and Adis portfolios and in the Academic Journals on nature.com. Established by the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL), this agreement will run through 31 December 2024.
Announcement on article allowance for year 2022
The open access publication service for the CAUL Springer Transformative Agreement has reached its maximum article allowance for 2022. This means the agreement is no longer covering open access publishing fees until 2023.
The option to publish open access via Springer Open Choice is still available to you, but the publishing fee will not be covered under the CAUL agreement until 01 January 2023. Authors should use alternative funding sources in order to publish open access or proceed with publication under subscription until the agreement is reactivated. If you need advice on what open access funding is available to you, please visit our funding & support service page. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, contact the open access team at your institution.
