Open Access Agreement for Consorcio Colombia

The Consorcio Colombia is made up of 58 public and private Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and 3 research centers, has the unrestricted support of the Ministries of National Education and of Science, Technology and Innovation, the pertinent collaboration of the Colombian Association of Universities – ASCUN and the operation and technical assistance of Consortia.

The Consortium continues a path begun by Colciencias years ago, with the aim that Colombian IES and research centers could access, in a more affordable way, high-impact digital resources from the main publishing houses in the world, thus contributing to the development of a methodology that has allowed the consolidation of successful negotiations and collaborative projects between the participating institutions.

The Consorcio Colombia is very proud to be the first in Latin America to sign a Transformative Agreement with Springer Nature, in such a way that a significant number of Colombian publications of the highest level can be in open access and available to all who wish to know them, without assuming costs for its reading.
