Open Access Agreement with the EISZ Consortium

Deal
-

“At the beginning of 2019, Springer Nature and the Hungarian Academic Consortium (EISZ) have signed the first transformative read and publish OA agreement. The Electronic Information Service National Programme (EISZ) was the first consortium in the Eastern European region to implement such an agreement. And Right from the beginning, Springer Nature and EISZ agreed to collaborate to establish a forward-thinking system which includes access, and from 2020 onwards, the option to publish also in Springer Nature's fully open access journal portfolio.”

We are very proud to announce that this second agreement covering the fully OA journals portfolio is now officially signed and available to all contributing authors connected to EISZ. We are sure that this new OA agreement will represent a significant enhancement for the visibility and impact of Hungarian research.

Researchers from the participating consortium institutions will have access to over 2,000 Springer journals and will have the right to publish their research via the OA model in more than 1,850 Springer hybrid journals without any direct costs.

Since 2020, the agreement also includes more than 600 fully OA journals from the Springer Nature portfolio.
