Open access agreement for JISC UK

JISC UK (Joint Information System Committee) has a transformative, open access agreement with Springer Nature. This Read and Publish OA agreement  is combining the cost of article processing charges (APCs) with subscription content access fees for participating institutions. Researchers from institutions in UK with a Read and Publish agreement can publish their articles in more than 2,000 Springer hybrid journals  and access the full text of over 2,300 Springer Nature journals. Costs are covered by the institution under the agreement and authors are not required to make any additional payments.

Established in early 1993, JISC UK supports institutions of higher education and research by providing access to digital resources, advice, consulting, and IT services. Springer Nature is pleased to collaborate with JISC for a Read and Publish OA agreement to support its scholarly community. For further agreement related information, please refer to the details on this web page.

Authors belonging to an eligible institution connected to the JISC are able to publish open access articles in subscription journals that offer the hybrid open access option (Open Choice) and the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY). The CC BY license allows others to distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon the licensed work, including for commercial purposes, as long as the original author is credited. More information on that and other journal policies can be found here https://www.springernature.com/gp/open-research/policies/journal-policies.
