Nature Research Journals for 2018

_

In 2018 we will be launching three new community centric, societally relevent Nature-branded research journals; Nature Catalysis, Nature Electronics and Nature Sustainability.

Like all Nature-branded journals, these new, online-only journals will be characterized by a dedicated team of in-house professional editors, a fair and rigorous peer-review process, high standards of copy-editing and production, swift publication, and editorial independence.

Learn more about each of our journals and their relevance to your institution below, or contact your licensing manager to discuss adding these important new resources to your collection.

Nature Catalysis

Nature catalysis

Nature Catalysis will bring together researchers from across all chemistry and related fields, publishing work on homogeneous catalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, and biocatalysts, incorporating both fundamental and applied studies. The journal will have a particular interest in applied work that advances our knowledge and informs the development of sustainable industries and processes.

As such, Nature Catalysis will provide essential coverage of the science and business of catalysis research, creating a unique journal for scientists, engineers and researchers in academia and industry.

In addition to fulfilling a clear community need, this new journal further demonstrates Nature Research's commitment to publishing applied research in support of societal needs and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, such as affordable and clean energy, industry innovation and infrastructure, responsible consumption and production.

Like all Nature-branded journals, Nature Catalysis will be characterized by a dedicated team of professional editors, a fair and rigorous peer-review process, high standards of copy-editing and production, swift publication, and editorial independence. In addition to peer-reviewed scholarly articles, the high quality front-half content for which Nature-branded journals are known – including commentaries, editorials and discussion pieces – provides a forum to engage researchers from all areas of catalysis.

Nature Electronics

Nature electronics

Nature Electronics will publish both fundamental and applied research across all areas of electronics, from the study of novel phenomena and devices, to the design, construction and wider application of electronic circuits. It will also cover commercial and industrial aspects of electronics research. At its core, the journal will be concerned with the development of new technologies and understanding the impact of these developments on society.

Unlike other journals in the field, Nature Electronics will publish the leading research of scientists, engineers and industry. (The journal’s focus on more applied and engineering research will also be a first for a Nature journal in the physical sciences.) Our unique journal will also include commentaries, reviews and analyses of the key issues shaping the field and the technology reshaping society. Nature Electronics will thus provide a comprehensive picture of the field that will be of value to scientists (including physicists, nanotechnologists, chemists, and materials scientists), engineers (including electronic, electrical, mechanical and biomedical engineers), and people in companies from across the technology sector.

Nature Sustainability

Nature Sustainability

Nature Sustainability is a new online-only journal that will publish significant original research from a broad range of natural, social and engineering fields about sustainability, its policy dimensions and possible solutions. Understanding how to ensure human life will thrive within the biophysical limits of the planet is the overarching goal of sustainability research.

Part of the journal's mission is to facilitate a cross-disciplinary dialogue around sustainability issues, and narrow the gap between research and policy making to ensure the real-world impact of research.

Decades of academic work and practical experience have helped to shed light on this crucial issue, but only recently in a more joined-up way across different research fields. There is now a much stronger call for integrated knowledge about the Earth, social and technological systems and their interfaces, particularly from outside academia as shown by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals agenda. Against this backdrop, researchers will find even stronger support to develop a deep understanding of those interactions and of their implications.

Like all Nature-branded journals, Nature Sustainability will be characterized by a dedicated team of professional editors, a fair and rigorous peer-review process, high standards of copy-editing and production, swift publication, and editorial independence.
