About this course

This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to confidently manage post-publication issues, whether initiated by authors themselves or via reports from readers or whistleblowers. With examples from the literature together with information on how the processes work at Springer Nature, editors will be equipped to make informed decisions and recommendations on how to proceed when problems are uncovered.

Who should take this course?

This course is written for both new and experienced editors who handle manuscripts and may need to handle post-publication issues if they arise. It is relevant across all fields and disciplines and for all different journal structures and publishing approaches.

What will I learn in this course?

This single-module course has individual sections which explain why post-publication changes are needed and how they can be initiated. It covers how to decide if action is needed or not, as well as outlining the usage and processes for Editorial Expressions of Concern, Editors’ Notes, Corrections, Retractions, article removal and authorised modifications.
