SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10 aims to reduce inequality within and among countries. Inequality is a major obstacle to sustainable development, as it limits opportunities for people and communities, and can lead to social unrest and conflict. SDG 10 calls for action to reduce inequality in income, wealth, access to education and healthcare, and other areas. This goal also calls for the promotion of social inclusion and non-discrimination.

This hub is a clearinghouse for research on UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10: Reduced Inequalities, published across Springer Nature. It features selected research from Springer Nature's journals, special issues, and cross-journal article collections, as well as selected books and book chapters. The curated research covers topics including income inequality, social inequality, and gender inequality, and more.

Science Storytelling for the SDGs at the UNGA Science Summit 2023

An evening of science storytelling from researchers brought together by Springer Nature, Story Collider and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

The event, which was led by Scientific American’s Laura Helmuth, involved a panel talking about their careers and experience working in research areas targeting SDGs 5, 7 and 10. The aim was to shine a light on the people behind the research who are working to find solutions to the challenges presented by the SDGs, but also to amplify the importance of effective science communication for accessibility, inclusion and driving forward progress.
