Springer Nature is committed to recognizing the valuable and critical role performed by peer reviewers.

  • When you submit your review you can set up your review contribution to be automatically added to your ORCID record after the final decision on the manuscript has been made.
  • When the decision has been made, your review contribution will be shown on your ORCiD record. Only the year of the review and the journal (or book series) title will be shown.
  • You will be asked to make a decision on opting in or out for every review. However reviews of  multiple revisions of the same manuscript will show as a single review contribution on ORCID, with the year of the most recent review.
  • You can request for your contribution to be deleted from ORCID at any time by contacting them directly.

Adding your peer review manually

  • Springer Nature can only automatically add review contributions to ORCID if you have opted-in before the final decision on the manuscript has been made.
  • Past review contributions, or requests made after the final decision on the manuscript has been made will need to be added to ORCID through your Web of Science profile (previously known as Publons). You'll need to be registered with Web of Science first.

  • You can ask Web of Science to recognise a specific review by emailing them the review confirmation email we sent to you to reivews@webofscience.com.

  • You'll also need to grant Web of Science permissions to update your ORCID record on your behalf. More information on this can be found on the ORCID website.

Other peer recognition resources offered by Springer Nature can be found on our peer reviewer page.
