2020 was a year like no other and it would be remiss of us not to take this opportunity to thank all of our authors, editors, referees, and readers for their continued support, loyalty, and hard work through such challenging times. Our Materials Science publishing team has also kept busy and we are pleased to continue to publish some of the most impactful content in our renowned journals and books. We celebrated important milestones on some of our established titles: the Journal of Materials Science celebrated its 1,000th issue and the Metallurgical and Materials Transactions journals marked their 50th anniversary. We published hundreds of new books this year, including textbooks, professional handbooks, research monographs, proceedings and other references, which we hope will serve the diverse, global communities of materials research and technology. We are also very proud to have established a new, comprehensive publishing partnership with the Materials Research Society (MRS). Springer Nature will now be the publisher of all MRS journals and books, with journals commencing in 2021 and the first books already in planning stages. Wherever you sit and whatever type of Materials-related content you’re creating, there’s a Springer Nature publishing operative nearby and interested in working with you.
