Nursing and Midwifery

We are proud to support the nursing community with a global nursing and midwifery program and to serve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal for Good Health and Well-Being, which intends to “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” This motto was central to the philosophy of Florence Nightingale, the British founder of nursing 200 years ago, who understood that the work of nurses and midwives shouldn't be limited to caring for people only during illness, but that it should enable people to live healthy lives and prevent illnesses when possible. This principle remains true now more than ever.

We are honored to welcome Dr Michelle Acorn, ICN Chief Nurse, Dr Karen Walker, COINN President, Patricia Geraghty and Dr Sakiko Kanbara’s inspiring blogs and to share a collection of cutting-edge book chapters and journal articles. Feel free to share this site with your peers and colleagues.
