Dr. Annie Le Blanc is the Head of Information Resources and Engineering at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). In this webinar recording below she shares her experience managing the Resources and Information Engineering group which is in charge of purchasing and access policies for scientific journals and books. She gives an overview of the developments and decision processes regarding eBook collections of the last nine years. This includes interesting insights into how to deal with a decrease in library attendance together with decline in time and human resources devoted to the paper acquisition policy.

The institution made the decision to move from paper versions to eBooks. Dr Le Blanc presents the evaluation process behind their eBook collection purchase and how they handled the implementation and the resistance to change that was identified in an internal survey in 2015. Hear more about the learnings, such as the importance of DRM-free access and communication strategies as well as usage. Joining Dr Le Blanc, our eBooks Product Manager Wouter van der Velde will draw parallels between CEA's experiences with eBook collection implementation and our best practice recommendations. Listen to the webinar recording below.

Here you can find the presentations by Dr Annie LeBlanc and Wouter van der Velde.
