Current Challenges for the EU

Climate Change, the Environment in Europe and beyond

With 2022 ranked as one of the warmest years ever recorded, tackling climate change has become an even more pressing matter. This is nothing new for the EU, which launched the European Green Deal back in 2019 to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The EU is also an active player in international climate negotiations and the largest funder of climate measures in developing countries.

On Europe Day this year, we encourage awareness and action to protect our environement. Please enjoy a selection of our favourite books, book chapters and journal articles dealing with topics including European Law, Politics, Ethics, Economics, and Social Values. Open access articles are freely available at any time.
