The Climate program at Springer offers students, researchers and practitioners comprehensive coverage of this key discipline and we continue to publish topical and timely research aligning key content with Sustainable Development Goal 13 - Climate Action. Our book program focuses on climate change and global warming, climate change policy and management as well as key components in atmospheric sciences related to monitoring climate change.  In response to society’s global challenges we continue to publish content covering both multi- and interdisciplinary approaches in climate, focusing for example on critical environmental topics such as societal impacts of climate, global and regional governance, climate change adaptation and solution management.  Our exciting and diverse portfolio comprises major reference works, edited collections, monographs, textbooks and our ever popular Briefs – ideal for both researchers and practitioners.

We look forward to working with you in 2021 and hearing from you with your new Climate related publishing ideas. Enjoy browsing a selection of our publication highlights from 2020!

Here we proudly present a selection of article highlights from this year’s journal program. In our climatology portfolio we cover a broad spectrum of climate related science, from paleoclimatology to current global change, from regional to global models, from atmospheric sciences to climate economics. In 2020 we published some exciting topical collections e.g. on Convection-Permitting Climate Modeling, Climate Finance Justice, and on Quaternary and Future Earth: Harmonious Coexistence of Climate and Humans. A truly transdisciplinary, open-access journal on ‘Climate Action’ will go live in 2021, aiming to build a bridge from science to action towards scientifically informed policies. Watch this space!

My personal highlight in terms of author service this year: Authors can now choose to publish their article on Research Square, a preprint repository directly linked to our journals. It supports rapid publication and supports authors in enhancing their articles pre-publication.

If you are seeking a suitable publishing outlet for your paper or special issue, or if you would like to get directly involved in journal publishing as an editor: please get in touch with one of our publishing editors, we are always happy to support you.
