The eBook Collection contains many new monographs, for example on Complex Systems - with applications in physics, but also in finance, societal problems or even traffic on our roads. Another example is Medical Physics, where physicists explore the interaction of light and radiation with our human bodies.

Springer is also known for its portfolio in more traditional areas such as Mathematical Physics, Condensed Matter, and Applied Physics. In 2021, we are pleased to present exciting new books in fundamental physics and hard-core astronomy, including books by exceptional scientists.

Dozens of authors and three distinguished Editors-in-Chief have worked on our newest and most comprehensive standard work: The Springer Handbook of Surface Science, which brings together all aspects of surface science, from experiment and theory to advanced applications, in a single book.

We are also proud to present the first book of the new Materials Research Society (MRS) and Springer partnership: An Introduction to the Science of Quantum Computing by Ray LaPierre, alongside Federico Grasselli's book that gives non-experts a comprehensive overview of quantum cryptography. But physicists looking into smaller objects will also be pleased with our 2021 program. You will find, for example, the first English version of the classic German textbook by Demtröder: "Particle and Nuclear Physics", or "String Field Theory" by Harold Erbin.
