SpringerMaterials is aimed at academic and governmental institutions with a research focus on materials science, physics, chemistry, and engineering. SpringerMaterials also supports industrial research and development in fields such as bulk and fine chemical manufacturing, petroleum and petrochemicals, semiconductors and electronic materials, optical materials, metals, ceramics, polymer synthesis and processing, and materials for fuels and energy applications.
SpringerMaterials primarily focuses on but is not limited to; semiconductors & electronics, chemical engineering & manufacturing, chemical processing & analysis, engineering (automotive, aerospace), fuels & energy, glasses & ceramics, metals & mining and polymer science.
Classic Landolt-Börnstein series, MSI Eureka, Linus Pauling Files – Inorganic Solid Phases, Polymer Thermodynamics Database (ATHAS), Dortmund Databank of Separation Technology, Springer Handbooks (e.g., VDI Heat Atlas), Adsorption Database, NIST Corrosion Database, SpringerMaterials Fundamentals Handbooks.
New content is added quarterly while platform and functionality enhancements and deployed on a rolling basis throughout the year.

ONLINE ACCESS
Access to SpringerMaterials is provided via a license via IP-Range or seat based model. If your institution has a SpringerMaterials license, and you access the platform within the IP-Range of your organization then access is provided automatically. For corporate organizations Springer Nature also offers seat based access models, which provides access to a limited number of users. If you do not have access yet, please get in touch with Springer Nature’s sales team to learn about different options.

TRIALS
You can request a trial via Springer Nature’s sales team or via a trial request form.
Springer Nature offers trial periods from 30-60 days.
FOR ADMINISTRATORS
SpringerMaterials and SpringerLink use the same Admin Dashboard. Select the SpringerMaterials option for usage statistics on this Dashboard on link.springer.com.
Usage / COUNTER reports are available for the SpringerMaterials platform. To access these reports log into the Admin Dashboard on link.springer.com and go to the Usage section. Select SpringerMaterials from the platform options box. The following COUNTER reports are available:
- Database Report 1 (DB1): Total Searches, Result Clicks and Record Views by Month and Database
- Database Report 2 (DB2): Access Denied by Month, Database and Category
A specialized SpringerMaterials usage report is also available upon request. This report covers web analytic data that complements the COUNTER report and gives highly detailed usage insights.
